How to Verify an Authentic Beka Wig
Counterfeit Beka wigs exist. Pieces sold under our name — on marketplace listings, resale groups, and copycat accounts — are made from processed hair we would never select, by hands that never touched our studio. This page explains how to make sure the piece you buy is real.
Why Beka Wigs gets copied
Only work worth owning gets faked. Each genuine piece is built from cuticle-aligned European and Russian human hair, hand-tied, and finished personally by founder Rivka Betito before it leaves the Brooklyn studio. Counterfeits borrow the name and the photos — never the material or the hands.
The only official channels
- bekawigs.com — this website is our only online store.
- Instagram @bekawigs — our verified account. We announce pieces there; purchases complete here or in person.
- The Brooklyn studio — fittings by appointment: 1277 E 14th St, Unit 608B, Brooklyn, NY. (718) 530-2419.
We do not sell through Amazon marketplace sellers, eBay, or unaffiliated "distributors." A discount listing on any of those is not a Beka wig.
How to verify before you buy
Ask for sourcing confirmation. We can confirm the hair origin of any genuine piece on request. A reseller who cannot produce this is not selling our work.
Check the price against reality. Genuine pieces start around $2,800. A "Beka wig" at $600 is a counterfeit — rare hair and forty-plus hours of hand-tying cannot exist at that price.
Message us first. Send the listing or the seller's name to us on Instagram or by phone before paying anyone claiming to resell a Beka piece. Verification costs nothing; a counterfeit costs everything.
Already bought a fake?
Report the listing to the platform and send us the details — takedowns protect the next buyer. If you would like to see what the real work looks like, read our story, visit the Built to Last guide, or book a private appointment through The Private Collection.
